The British newspaper 'The Guardian' ranked the Middelheim museum in the top 10 best statue parks in Europe.

The permanent collection of the park itself is well worth a visit. Underneath stately trees, along wide footpaths and on enticing lawns, you'll come face-to-face with big names such as Auguste Rodin, Rik Wouters, Henry Moore, Juan Muñoz, Carl Andre, Panamarenko, Franz West, Erwin Wurm and many others.

From 1 June until 30 September 2018, a visit to this park is an absolute must. In 2018, Antwerp will be celebrating a year of Rubens and old & contemporary baroque. The Middelheimpark will focus on how baroque has influenced contemporary art, and how even now artists highlight the tension between life-like and faux objects and subjects. The cave, the labyrinth, the tableau vivant, the folly, the fountain, the trompe l'oeil: all these Baroque characteristics are still a source of inspiration for international contemporary artists.

Many of these artists have created new works (architecture, installations, sculptures) specifically designed for the Middelheim museum and other public areas in Antwerp. Be wowed by contemporary Baroque on a walk through the park.
