Bruegel's legacy

Bruegel's legacy didn't die in 1569, as many renowned Flemish artists have paid homage to his work in their own. In this exhibition, you'll meet James Ensor, Valerius De Saedeleer, Jules De Bruycker, Gustave Van de Woestyne, Jean Brusselmans and Constant Permeke. These 20th-century artists all found their inspiration in Bruegel. Even today, Bruegel's work continues to influence contemporary artists, including sculptors, misicians and performance artists. Their work will reinforce this visual ode to Bruegel. These artists include: Pascale Marthine Tayou, Emanuelle Quertin, Kasper Bosmans, Grazia Todori, Christoph Fink and Bart Lodewijks.

This event attracts a wide range of visitors, from culture vultures to families with children. You can also combine your visit with the walking and cycling tour 'Bruegel's Eye: reconstructing the landscape', which starts in Dilbeek.
